Colt M16 Selective Fire Rifle, 9 Million Serial Range, Class III/NFA Fully Transferable Machine Gun
Manufactured in the 1970s–1980s, Colt M16 rifles in the 9 million serial range were produced for commercial and export sales but built to the same military-grade specifications and quality standards as U.S. military contract rifles.
Features include an adjustable pin front sight and two-leaf windage-adjustable rear sight, A1-pattern birdcage flash hider on a “C MP CHROME BORE” marked barrel, bayonet lug, triangular handguard, low-profile brass deflector, and oval forward assist. The lower receiver is roll-marked with the Rampant Colt logo and “COLT/M16” on the left side of the magazine well, with a “fenced” magazine catch on the right and a right-hand 3-position selector (SAFE/SEMI/AUTO). Additional features include anti-walk pins, a textured Hogue pistol grip, and a Vltor 7-position telescoping buttstock.
The full-auto carrier is correctly serrated and “E” marked, paired with an “M” marked bolt head and one-piece Vltor buffer.
Excellent as assembled/upgraded, with 95% plus original matte black phosphate finish, showing some edge wear and handling marks overall. Mild scuffing is present on the forearm, with the pistol grip and stock showing only minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 479.
