Cargnel and Bee Engrave Belgian Browning BAR Grade V Rifle
Manufactured in 1968, this rifle features a blued barrel equipped with a hooded beaded blade front sight, folding leaf rear sights, and standard factory markings. The barrel is joined to a blued receiver adorned with finely executed floral scroll engraving on a matted background, framing gold-bordered and gold-inlaid game scenes on both sides: a trio of pronghorn antelope on the left and a trio of whitetail deer on the right.
The engraving is signed “GINO” beneath the left scene and “ABEE” within the scroll at the lower left, signifying that the game scenes were crafted by FN Master Engraver Gino Cargnel and the scrollwork by Master Angelo Bee.
The rifle is stocked with a beautifully figured, vine-carved, and checkered forend and pistol grip stock, complete with a blank gold inscription oval and factory buttplate. Included is a full-length factory Naugahyde case.
Excellent, retaining 99% original blue and gold finishes with minor handling evidence. There is a tiny crack at the left side of the forend at the junction with the receiver; otherwise, the wood is also excellent with a few minor marks and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is very fine.
