Beunet and Vandersmissen Engraved Browning 410 Midas Grade Shotgun
Manufactured in 1970, this finely appointed shotgun is built with blued Special Steel barrels featuring dual white bead sights on a matted vent rib, standard barrel markings, wedge scroll engraving at the breech, 3-inch chambers with automatic ejectors, and “$”/“$” (Skeet/Skeet) chokes.
The barrels are paired to a blued action exhibiting full-coverage scroll engraving on a punch-dot background, framing gold-inlaid game scenes: three pheasants on the left, three mallards on the right, and a quail on the underside. Each scene is rendered in fine semi-relief gold inlay with gold-inlaid borders. The action is signed “M Beunet” on the left and “VANDERSMISSENG” on the right.
Additional features include a single gold trigger, tang-mounted safety/selector with gold-inlaid “O,” “U,” and “S” indicators, and a beautifully figured, fancy multi-point checkered beavertail forend with engraved forend iron. The stock is a flat knob short tang pistol grip configuration, fitted with a Browning recoil pad.
Stock measurements: Drop at comb 1 3/8″; drop at heel 2″; length of pull 14 7/16″; weight 7 lbs. 3 oz.
Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and gold finishes showing minor handling evidence and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent. A great chance to own a fabulous small bore Browning!
