Excellent Pre-World War II Colt Third Issue Officer's Model Target Double Action Revolver with Box
Manufactured in 1931, this pre-World War II Colt Officer’s Model Target revolver is an outstanding example of the series. The barrel features the standard two-line address and patent markings on top, with model and caliber markings on the left. The left side of the frame is stamped with the Rampant Colt emblem along with “VP” and “3” near the trigger guard. The revolver is fitted with an adjustable Patridge blade front sight, adjustable notch rear sight, and a pair of checkered walnut grips with Colt medallions.
Included is the original factory box with the correct label, as well as an additional label marked “TARGET PATRIDGE SIGHT,” faintly numbered to a different revolver.
Excellent, retains 97% of the original blue finish with some very light wear at the muzzle and on some edges showing a bright grey patina, as well as a cylinder drag line. The grips are also excellent, with a few light handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is fine with moderate wear, and a few pieces are absent from the lid.
