FFL And Private Party Transfers

Here at Mallards Shooting Supply & Apparel, we’d be more than happy to handle any and all FFL & Private party Gun Transfers you need.

Firearms sent through the mail are called transfers. It’s illegal for an individual to receive a firearm through the mail without the necessary background check. You are required to send all firearms to a Federal Firearms Licensed (FFL) Dealer such as Mallards Shooting Supply & Apparel.

The Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) requires that you complete a 4473 Form for each set of guns or single gun transferred.

$35.00 Fee Per Gun + $5.00 Background Check

Private Transfers Procedures

There is no current requirements to sell a firearm from one individual to another but there is a way to make sure you are not selling one to an unlawful individual and have peace of mind if you chose to sell your gun privately. We provide a background check and transfer of ownership receipt here at Mallards for a $35.00 transfer fee & $5.00 background check.

NFA Transfers

NFA items are regulated items that the ATF requires an additional process to acquire and possess such items this includes but is not limited to machine guns, short-barreled rifles and shotguns, heavy weapons, explosive ordnance, silencers and "any other weapon" (AOW), such as disguised or improvised firearms. Here at Mallards we have all the necessary knowledge and resources to get you your NFA items. We are partnered with SilencerShop with a kiosk that makes doing all your legal requirements as easy as possible. We ask that if you are planning to make your fist NFA purchase you follow the following steps before using our kiosk:

Step 1: Create an account with SilencerShop.com and also create an account with ATF E-Forms.com

(Make sure you use the same email and credentials for both accounts!)

Step 3: Create your personal PIN code and SAVE it as you will need that code for EVERYTHING!

Step 4: Find what specific item you think you would like to purchase.

Step 5: Come into the store with this information and we will handle the rest of the requirements for you!

Firearm Transfer Procedure

  1. Call or stop by to check our inventory we probably have what your looking for

  2. A copy of the FFL sent via Email to Receiving@Mallardsguns.com from the Dealer that is shipping the firearm to us.

  3. Provide the following information: Your Name/Phone number/Address followed by:

  4. Contact information of the Dealer regarding your order.

  5. Make and Model of the firearms.

  6. Date of purchase

  7. In-store completion of form 4473 (Required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms) after the firearm has arrived in store.

  8. Pay our transfer fee($35) and background check fee($5)
