Range Safety Rules
- TREAT EVERY FIREARM AS IF IT IS LOADED.
- All firearms must be unloaded and enclosed in a case at all times when entering the store or the range, unless carried by authorized law enforcement personnel or legally carried concealed.
- Always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction.
- At your shooting station, always keep the muzzle pointed downrange.
- Do not shoot at anything other than your designated target.
- Know how your firearm operates. If you’re unsure, ask a Range Safety Officer (RSO).
- Ensure your firearm and ammunition are compatible. If uncertain, ask before shooting.
- Eye and ear protection are always required on any firing range.
- All individuals using any firing range must be free from the influence of alcohol, narcotics, or marijuana, including any detectable odor of such substances.
- Keep all firearms unloaded until you are at your lane and ready to fire.
- Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target and you’re ready to shoot.
- Only lead core ammunition may be used on any firing range. No steel core, bimetal, tracer, incendiary, explosive, armor-piercing, tipped rounds or aluminum cased ammunition is allowed.
- No reloaded ammunition is allowed. No black powder firearms (either muzzle-loaded or black powder cartridge) are allowed.
- Buckshot and Slug only, no birdshot, field, target, turkey, or sporting loads.
- No binary triggers, bump stocks, forced reset triggers, or other devices or shooting methods which enhance the normal manual rates of fire are permitted.
- Shooting anything other than the paper target will result in a fine, and charges for the repair of any property damaged.
- There is a maximum of two people allowed per shooting lane, with only one person actively shooting at a time.
- Do not move forward of the firing line under any circumstances. If you drop something in front of the firing line, ask a Range Safety Officer (RSO) for assistance in retrieving it.
- No food, drink, or tobacco products are permitted on the range.
- No open-toed shoes or low-cut tops are allowed for safety reasons: spent casings are hot.
- Children must be 8 years of age or older, to be able to enter the firing range.
- Minors must be adequately supervised at all times.
- Pregnant and nursing women may not enter the range.
- You may collect your own brass that is inside your stall and behind the firing line. Brass from other shooters and all brass that falls in front of the firing line may not be collected.
- Upon hearing the command “CEASE FIRE,” all shooters must immediately stop firing, render their firearms safe, place them on the shooting bench with actions open, and step back behind and away from the firing line. No one may approach the firing line or handle any firearm until the command “ALL CLEAR” is issued by range staff.
- Drawing from any holster is strictly prohibited unless specifically authorized by a Range Safety Officer.
- No loaded firearm may ever be transferred between shooting booths.
