Stunning Factory Gian Marco Sabatti Signed and Bulino Game Scene Master Engraved Fratelli Rizzini R1-E Sidelock Double Barrel Shotgun with Case

$ 69999.99

A true collector-grade rarity, this Fratelli Rizzini gun represents the work of one of Italy’s most exclusive makers, a small firm building only around 25 guns per year and known for producing functional works of art at the highest level. This exceptional example features blued steel chopperlump barrels with 2 3/4-inch chambers, automatic ejectors, a single brass bead sight, and a smooth concave tapered solid rib hand-signed “Flli. RIZZINI MAGNO VT,” accented by a small floral scroll flourish at the base; the barrels also carry 2004-dated Italian proof marks and an import mark on the right tube under the forend. The brushed bright-finished sidelock action is richly engraved with Italian ornamental scrollwork and interspersed bouquets across the fences, toplever, trigger guard, and both tangs, with the gun’s serial number displayed in gold inlay on the underside. Adding significant artistic and collectible appeal, the scrollwork frames three finely detailed bulino game scenes: a pair of grouse in flight with mountains in the background on the left lockplate, a pair of pheasant cocks flushing from cover on the underside, and another pair of grouse in flight on the right lockplate, with shaded negative space creating impressive depth; the engraving is signed on the triggerplate “GIAN MARCO SABATTI INC” by the Italian Master Engraver. The gun is fitted with double triggers and a tang-mounted manual safety with a gold-inlaid “S” indicator. Its woodwork is equally striking, with a beautifully figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend fitted with matching engraved bright-finished iron and an Anson button release, paired with a straight-hand stock of the same exceptional quality, matching multi-point flat-top checkering, and a checkered bare butt. Included with the gun is the maker’s leather flat case with canvas cover and a data sheet for this specific gun inside the lid, along with a nickel oiler, nickel snap caps, and a complement of cleaning tools. Barrel and stock measurements are as follows, right/left where applicable: bore diameter proofed and measured nine inches from the breech at 18.4 mm (.724 inches), choke constriction .012/.020 inches, minimum wall thickness .034/.033 inches, 1 7/16-inch drop at comb, 2 1/4-inch drop at heel, 14 9/16-inch length of pull, slight cast-off, and weight of 6 lbs. 14 oz. With its extremely limited-production maker, signed master engraving, original case and accessories, and superb craftsmanship throughout, this Fratelli Rizzini stands out as both a remarkable sporting gun and a highly desirable investment-quality collectible.
