Excellent Colt Model 1908 Vest Pocket Semi-Automatic Pistol with Box
This 1921 Colt pistol is a fine example of early 20th-century craftsmanship, featuring classic design details such as non-snag subdued fixed blade front and notch rear sights set in a slide groove. The left side of the slide is roll-marked with the two-line Colt address and patent dates, complemented by the iconic Rampant Colt logo behind the serrations, while the caliber designation appears on the right side of the slide. The serial number is found on the left frame side and repeated under the slide, ensuring authenticity.
Additional markings include “3” over “triangle/VP” on the left trigger guard and “61” on the right side, with the trigger, thumb safety, and grip safety finished in case color. The pistol is fitted with Colt logo hard rubber grips, featuring a stylized “C” behind the Rampant Colt emblem, maintaining period correctness.
It comes with the correct two-tone blued magazine stamped “CAL.25/COLT” on the base and is accompanied by a Colt maroon box without an end label, adding to its collectible provenance from the Ken Gibilisco Collection.
Excellent, retaining 90% plus original blue finish and 97% plus original case colors with a few limited spots of freckling and specs of spotting visible mostly on the slide, some minor handling marks, and clear roll-marks. The grips are very fine with some minor compression wear and handling marks in the otherwise defined logos and checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is very good with frayed edges.
